Yateley School has a small but keen Parents and Teachers Association (“PTA”) and we are looking for new members to bring fresh ideas and further support for the events  we run.  Just helping at one event a year would be greatly appreciated.

As the Government spending cuts begin to bite more deeply into the school’s budget there will be less money in that budget for the staff to spend on essentials let alone on those extras that make learning easier or more fun.

The support we provide is greatly appreciated by the departments that receive it and we only see the demand for support from the PTA growing in the short term.  To do this we need to raise more money and we need more volunteers to help.  More help will enable us to run more and bigger events.

The PTA meets for just over an hour about twice a term.  We provide the much appreciated refreshments for parents and teachers at evening performances and subject reviews at the school and we have enjoyed fundraising quiz nights and dances to boost the funds.  If you have ideas of raising funds that have been successful in the past a previous schools please let us know, you can email yateleyschoolpta@gmail.com  .  We have a Facebook page too, so click by and ‘like’ us. you will find second hand uniform and easy ways to shop and support your PTA without even leaving home.

Over the last few years the PTA has provided funding towards:

  • New laptops
  • Software subscriptions
  • Counselling Services
  • Business Enterprise Scheme
  • Digital cameras
  • Digital voice recorders
  • Equipment for the lunchtime club

PTA 100 Club

Finally, the 100 Club we run has 4 draws a year and better odds than the national lottery, although it must be said the rewards are not as monetarily  high!  However, you will have a warm feeling knowing that by paying just £12 a year you are supporting your child’s education further and next time…… it might just be you!
