Performing Arts

At Yateley School, we are committed to offering a broad range of opportunities for all students to take part and achieve in Performing Arts.

Activities and Achievements in Performing Arts at Yateley School

Pupils perform 6 public music concerts per year, often featuring original compositions. There are 3 major theatre productions and workshop performances of original or adapted work per year. The Music department enters more pupils for the Southern Examination Group GCSE than any other school. Over 250 children receive extra instrumental tuition. The Music and Drama departments and teachers were highly acclaimed by OFSTED. Yateley pupils perform in Hampshire’s orchestras and youth theatre. Music and Drama staff take workshops and performances into local primary schools. Yateley excels in district and national music competitions. Professional theatre companies regularly perform in the Yateley Studio. Yateley Musicians provide music for community and charitable events. In 2006 Yateley pupils won parts in local pantomime and two students were awarded places in the National Youth Theatre. In 2005, Yateley School were Champions in the UK Southern Premiere Global Rock Final. At their first attempt the previous year they were runners up.
